Get To Know Me | The Disney Tag

Welcome to the very first post on Access All Disney!

I'm so excited to be up and running finally with this blog. I've wanted to create something more focused around Disney for so long, especially as an adult who loves it so much. I not only want to share with people that it's totally ok to love Disney as an adult, but share just how accessible Disney can be to all of us. It's all about finding the smaller joys and adding those little hints of magic to your every day life. I know I say that a lot of here, but it's something I like to live by.

As my first ever post, I thought we'd go for a simple, yet effective Q&A style tag post! This is a great way for you to get to know me, and of course I've picked a Disney themed one. So, shall we?

Favourite Disney Film?

I mean, how do I even narrow this down?! I really don't feel like this is a fair question to hit me with from the get go!

I know that my first ever favourite Disney film (And probably the Disney film that introduced me to Disney!) was Robin Hood, so that has to be in there. The Little Mermaid because Ariel is my favourite Princess (And Eric is my favourite Prince!), Aladdin because it features one of my all time favourite characters (Genie of course!), The Nightmare Before Christmas is an absolute classic (I adore Oogie Boogie!), Tangled and Brave are two I love, are totally underrated and have incredible soundtracks, and I love all of the Marvel films (I'm living for the build up to Infinity Wars at the moment!). There are more, but we'd be here all day.

Favourite Disney Character?

Again, this is a toughie, but if I really have to narrow it down to one, it's got to be the one and only Genie. Robin Williams just did the most amazing job bringing Genie to life, and although I'm incredibly sad that he left us far too soon, I'm so glad he gets to live on through one of the most loveable Disney characters.

Favourite Disney Princess?

So I suppose I've already answered this, but Ariel. I mean, she's a mermaid. I want to be a mermaid too. Also, Ariel definitely came out on top with Eric. He's a babe!
Favourite Disney Side Kick?
I suppose I should put Genie here seen as he's down as my favourite Disney character, but I also think a special shout out needs to go to all of the loveable sidekicks from Beauty and the Beast, and also Mater from the Cars films. I love that guy!
Favourite Disney Song?
Maybe not so much of a song, but more of a theme tune. I absolutely love the theme music for Pirates of the Caribbean. It's just such an epic soundtrack! I always feel ready for an adventure when I listen to it.

Which Disney Character Would Be Your Best Friend?

I reckon Punzie and I would be besties. She's ditzy, but loads of fun, and I bet it would just be really good to hang out with her. Plus I'm ditzy too so I think we'd be a good match!

Who Would Be Your Disney Pet?

Remy! He's adorable and can cook amazing food. That's a winning combo right there! In all seriousness, when I was about 10 I had a pet rat called Reggie, and to this day he was one of my all time favourite pets. He used to sit on my shoulder and he was actually my best friend (He couldn't cook though.).

Have You Ever Been To Disneyland?

So far I've only visited Disneyland in Paris, although I'm not upset about this. I love DLP. Living in the UK, it's quite easily accessible to me, and it really holds a special place in my heart. My Nan and Grandad took me to the park when it first opened 25 years ago, and it really opened my eyes to the true magic of Disney.

Orlando may potentially be on the cards for next year though. Watch this space...

Who Is Your Disney Alter Ego?

It's got to be Donald. A bit of a grump sometimes, but really loving underneath the grump and I'll always go that extra mile for those I love. Have you seen how Donald looks at Daisy?! He would go to the moon and back for her!

Who Is Your Favourite Disney Villain?

I don't know how people will feel about me choosing this guy, as I know some people are pretty bitter about Star Wars being a part of Disney, but honestly, I love it, and Darth Vader isn't just my all time favourite Disney villain; he's my all time favourite bad boy!

Do You Collect Anything Disney Wise?

I collect a few things actually. I love the mini Tsum Tsums, and have a rather large collection now. I collect Funko Pops (Although, these aren't strictly Disney ones.), and my more recent collection I've been building up is Disney pins, although I'm not a hard core pin trader or anything. I just like to collect quirky Disney ones and pin them on my jacket. If I'm going to spend the money on the pins I may as well show them off!

What Disney Film Would You Like To Star In If You Could?

It would have to be The Little Mermaid because I want to star as a mermaid, and also if I could be the one Eric falls in love with instead that would be grand.

How Old Were You When You Watched Your First Disney Film?

I reckon with my Nan being such a closet Disney fan and using me as an excuse to take part in a number of Disney themed activities (The best way to be used to be honest!) I bet I watched my first Disney film further back than my memory will take me. I'm going to hazard a guess at around three, maybe?

What Do You Love About Disney?

What's not to love about Disney?! Ok, so I know Disney isn't everybody's cup of tea, but to me it's just so special. I've been through some pretty rough times in only 30 years of my life, and Disney has always been a comforting retreat. Getting lost in a Disney classic film and totally escaping from the real world for a short while has really helped me get through some hard times. It's taught me that no matter how rubbish life can feel sometimes, there is always something good out there, just sometimes you really need to find it.

Disney is a community and a way of life. We may have to grow old, but that doesn't mean we have to grow up. I think it's healthy to let your inner child out to play from time to time, and Disney is the perfect escape from day to day life for me personally. Whether it be in one of the parks or snuggled on my sofa watching one of the films, there's nothing I love more than immersing myself in the world of Disney.

Who Is Your Favourite Disney Couple?

I think I'd have to choose Flynn and Punzie for this. They're such a cute couple, tonnes of fun and I love watching them fall for one another as the film unfolds. Also, when Flynn takes Punzie to see the lanterns, and they sing "I See The Light". My heart!

So this is the part where I'm supposed to tag people to write this post, however, it's my first post and I don't really have anybody I can tag at the moment! However, if you want to do it please feel free to take part, and don't forget to share your post with me in the comments if you do!
